View from my hotel room in Lisbon

On my way to Rio I took a stop over in Lisbon. Always when I go to Rio the worst part is the seat in the airplane, so I have decided to spend some of my money on business flights.

It is really comfortable compared to economy class. Especially the seat, because it can be adjusted with a press on a button to any desired position. Even full flat – almost like a real bed – when it is time to sleep.

Happily landed in Lisbon I went down to the metro station – Aeroporto – and bought a 24 hour ticket euro 6.50 for any public transportation unit in the city.

I took the Linha Vermelha (red tube) to station Alameda. Switched over to Linha Verde (green tube) until I stepped off at Martim Moniz, and crossed the Praza to my Hotel Mundial.

It is sunday morning on the 15. of December and the temperature was around 20 degrees Celsius.

I saw a group of very young scouts, guided by two adult scouts. Everyone dressed in clean and shining uniforms, like a corpse of soldiers heading for the battle.

For me it’s a rare and somehow spectacular view, because I remember for about 40 years ago it was a common sight in Denmark. Today I don’t know if there’s anybody still doing these kind of things. Is it a relict from some fascist organisation? Is it a dream of keeping at least a little order in the mess, most of us feel very involved in, but miserably helpless to find a reasonable way out and “home”? Those were actually questions with no answers at all. Unfortunately.

Quite a difference from Copenhagen where I left a cloudy capital quite a bit colder. Don’t remember exactly but it was maybe 5 degrees Celsius.
